Meet author of ‘Swimming Wild in the Lake District’, Suzanna Cruickshank.

In 2006 she took a job in Cumbria on a whim. In 2008 she moved here permanently and never looked back. From having never swam outdoors to spending most of her free time in a swimsuit, she absolutely loves the diverse opportunities for open water swimming in the Lake District. So she made her passion her life, setting up Suzanna Swims in December 2016. Five years on and her first book ‘Swimming Wild in the Lake District’ won the Landscapes and Traditions category in the 2021 Lakeland Book of the Year Awards. We’re delighted to welcome Suzanna for a reading followed by a conversation and Q&A lead by open water swimming pioneer and Ullswater resident, Colin Hill.
